Rural Action to hold community paddle

The Times-Reporter

Rural Action’s Huff Run Watershed Team will host a community paddle from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 on Leesville Lake, 4131 Deer Road SW, Bowerston, weather permitting.

Participants will learn about the history of Leesville Lake and the Conotton Creek Watershed before getting in the water. An experienced kayaker will also provide tips to ensure that everyone stays dry while kayaking.

It is requested that participants bring their own kayak or canoe if they own one. The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District will provide 10 solo kayaks and two tandem kayaks for participants to borrow.

Face coverings will be required during sign-in, but not on the water. It is recommended that participants have some previous kayaking experience due to the colder temperatures this time of year.

The paddle will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 1 in case of bad weather.

Registration is required.
